James Rodriguez, professional commercial artists has graciously donated his design of the approved Ormond Beach Arts District logo to be used on our new street banners. Rodriguez was educated at F.I.T. and Parsons. His works are on display in shows and galleries in New York City, the Caribbean and Amsterdam. The first goal of Ormond MainStreet has been to brand the district. The new banners will increase public awareness and interest in our Ormond Beach Arts District..New art related businesses are already inquiring about space to lease and additional festive activities are being planned for the east and west side of Granada Blvd.
The white background emulates the sandy beaches, the blue/green lettering represents the sea and waterways; the sun combines three components: Florida as the ‘Sunshine State’, the reddish swirls constitute the hub of artistic activity and the ascent of the sun depicts the dawn of a new level of culture and activities in our downtown.
