Have you…
- Ever
tried to solve a puzzle so big that spans a river?
- Ever
wanted to create and take home a piece of art?
- Ever
wanted to learn a bit of Ormond Beach’s history from INSIDE its historical
buildings?
- Ever
wanted to get some exercise with several thousand of your neighbors?
The Ormond Bridge Puzzle is a unique annual event with the
ambitious goal of stimulating the minds, improving the health, and stoking the
creative embers of ALL who live in or near our community.
Seabreeze High School AP Chemistry teacher and local author
Robert Hernandez has created a Puzzle for Ormond’s residents to solve. The
clues are spread throughout the corners of the Granada Bridge. Finding them is
just the beginning. Puzzlers will have to assemble them correctly and decipher
their secrets. To do so, they will need to walk the Granada Bridge, meander in
and out of some of Ormond Beach’s historical sites, and create a piece of art.
If successful, Puzzlers will go home with the satisfaction of being clever
enough to have mastered the challenge. They will also have a better, more
intimate understanding of Ormond’s history; and they’ll be holding a piece of
art they created themselves.
The event begins promptly at 9:00AM, Saturday February 18,
2012 at the Casements’ Stage in Rockefeller Gardens, and runs until noon. It is
free to the public… Anyone with an imagination, a sense of adventure, and who
is fit enough to walk a bit over two
miles is welcomed and invited to participate.
Are you up for the challenge? Be there promptly at 9AM.
