The Ormond MainStreet Annual Celebration was a great
success! One hundred forty members and
friends of MainStreet joined the party at the Ormond Memorial Art Museum. “The Jams” performed and were a big hit with
great food catered by RPS and an open wine/beer bar. The Silent Auction was the
best ever with great prizes donated from local businesses in our
community. Thank you one and all for
your generosity to us!
Connie Miller and Sons were presented a plaque commemorating
Bill Miller who served as President three times and was a strong supporter of
MainStreet for over 16 years. Bill is sorely missed by all of Ormond Beach! Jimmy Hull was also honored for his service
to Ormond MainStreet for the past 15 years and Jimmy served as Vice President
and consummate supporter.
New Board Members voted into office include James (Jim) E.
Weite, Jr.; Jim is Regional Vice President of Commercial Banking for Volusia,
Flagler and Lake Counties with TD Bank, “America’s Most Convenient Bank”. James (Jimmy) Harper also a new Board Member
is an acclaimed artist and owner the James Harper Fine Art Gallery on West
Granada. Jimmy has generously agreed to
Chair the Arts Committee and Downtown Ormond Beach has recently been designated
an “Arts District”.
Three Art Banner finalists were presented at the Celebration
for a final vote by the membership and community. The Grand Prize winner will soon be announced. Thank you one and all for nearly fifty
magnificent art banner entries received from local Ormond Beach artists.
Now on to another great year!
